Out with the old and in with the new

When I decided to go back to school to further my education and obtain a degree, I thought it would open doors that would lead to opportunities that would allow for growth. I worked in retail for 10 years. I had good days, and I had bad. Customers could be rude and demanding and sometimes extremely shading. Being a member of management, I felt a sense of needing t o protect the staff, so I often took on difficult customers. The sche duling was awful. I often worked we e kends and evenings, and most holidays. I missed most of my daughter’s award ceremonies in her elementary school years. This com p any was open every day of the year, s o working Thanksgiving and Christmas was not unheard of . I remember being super ill one day and I calle d in sick; the manager told me I could only call off if I found someone else to cover for me.
